With heavy hearts, we report the sad news about the beloved singer Cyndi Lauper.

Cyndi Lauper, known for her 1983 hit “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” inspires women with her quirky, carefree character and colorful fashion. Despite her vibrant public persona, Lauper has battled psoriasis since 2010, describing it as “looked like someone threw boiling water on me.”

Psoriasis, affecting millions worldwide, causes pain, itchiness, and scaly patches. Initially mistaking her symptoms for hair dye irritation, Lauper faced physical and emotional distress. Determined not to let the condition slow her down, she wrote the music for the Tony Award-winning musical “Kinky Boots” during severe flare-ups.

A dedicated activist, Lauper supports the LGBT community, inspired by her sister Ellen. She continues to manage stress through holistic practices like reiki, yoga, and meditation. Lauper encourages others to “make a little time for you,” emphasizing self-care.

Speaking to the American Academy of Dermatology, she shared, “I’ve never been able to really manage stress.” Treatments have helped her, and as a spokesperson for Cosentyx, she’s been “four years clear.” Lauper’s podcast, *PsO in the Know*, further raises awareness, featuring stories from those living with psoriasis.

With her resilience and advocacy, Lauper remains a powerful role model, helping others face their challenges.
