Cheney, in a statement to The Hill, asserted that Trump attempted to overturn the 2020 election and seize power. She accused him of organizing a mob that attacked law enforcement, breached the Capitol, and halted the electoral vote count. Cheney also claimed Trump failed to act for hours as police were beaten and the Capitol was attacked.
