Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in New York after facing multiple civil lawsuits alleging serious offenses, including sex trafficking, sexual abuse, and rape. Federal prosecutors unsealed an indictment accusing him and his associates of threatening and coercing women to fulfill his sexual desires, including forcing them into recorded sexual activities he referred to as “Freak Outs.” His attorney declared him an innocent man and criticized the prosecution as unjust.
Combs’ legal troubles date back to allegations made by his former partner, Cassie Ventura, who accused him of years of abuse, including trafficking and rape. Surveillance footage from 2016 appeared to support her claims of violence. In addition, Combs faces a $100 million default judgment from a separate lawsuit involving allegations of sexual assault dating back to a party in 1997.
As new lawsuits continue to emerge, Combs has denied all allegations, claiming they are attempts for financial gain. He has vowed to fight to clear his name and insists he has nothing to hide.
