What began as a joyful honeymoon in Shillong ended in tragedy. On May 20, businessman Raja Raghuvanshi arrived with his new bride, Sonam. Days later, his body was found in a remote gorge, stripped of identity and life.
Police first suspected Raj Kushwaha, Sonam’s alleged lover, but soon uncovered her chilling role. Investigators say Sonam orchestrated Raja’s murder, manipulating Raj and recruiting three accomplices — Vishal Singh, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput — with money and promises. Using phone records, she tracked Raja’s movements before the killers ambushed him.
In a dark twist, Sonam allegedly plotted to kill Raj too. Arrested on June 8, she confessed, leaving India stunned by this tale of vows betrayed and love twisted into violence.
