Pennsylvania Sens. Dave McCormick, an ally of President Donald Trump, and John Fetterman are set to hold their first joint public event in Pittsburgh this Saturday.
However, not all Democrats are pleased with Fetterman’s bipartisan support for McCormick’s new book, which has sparked a protest.
An activist group, Mondays Without McCormick Pittsburgh, alongside Indivisible Pittsburgh, is organizing the protest and urging both senators to address constituents’ concerns by hosting a town hall. Former Democratic Rep. Conor Lamb, who challenged Fetterman in the 2022 primary, criticized him for not speaking out more during Trump’s second term.
While McCormick regularly engages with constituents, Fetterman has not held a public event in over two months. Fetterman’s bipartisan approach and past meeting with Trump have stirred discontent among some Democrats. The protest will coincide with McCormick’s book tour, where he and Fetterman will discuss mentorship.
