Rice Water for Skin: DIY Toner to Fade Dark Spots & Minimize Large Pores

For radiant, healthy skin, natural remedies often hold the best secrets—and rice water is one such gem. Long used in Japanese, Korean, and Chinese skincare traditions, rice water is celebrated for its ability to brighten, soothe, and improve skin texture.

Rich in vitamins B and E, amino acids, and antioxidants, rice water helps reduce dark spots, minimize pores, soothe irritation, and improve elasticity. It’s a gentle yet powerful addition to any skincare routine.

To make your own rice water toner, you’ll need:

  • ½ cup uncooked white rice

  • 2–3 cups filtered water

  • 1 tbsp aloe vera gel

  • (Optional) A few drops of tea tree oil or rose water

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice thoroughly.

  2. Soak it in water for 24–48 hours to ferment.

  3. Strain and mix in aloe vera gel.

  4. Pour into a spray bottle and refrigerate (lasts 7–10 days).

How to use:
Cleanse your face, then apply the toner with a cotton pad or spray bottle. Leave it on for 15–20 minutes or overnight. Follow with moisturizer. Use 2–3 times a week. Always patch test if you have sensitive skin.

This natural toner is affordable, easy to make, and an effective path to brighter, balanced skin.
