Tragic Case of Missing Teen in Mato Grosso. Brazil has been shaken by the disappearance and death of 15-year-old Yasmin Estefânia Alves Ribeiro in Lucas do Rio Verde, Mato Grosso.

Her case drew attention after reports that she had been threatened following posts on social media. Despite warnings from acquaintances, Yasmin vanished, prompting extensive searches by the Fire Department. Her body was later discovered in a wooded area of the Tessele Júnior neighborhood, bound and severely injured.

Police have detained two suspects linked to a criminal faction, suspected of abducting her from home and transporting her to the crime site.

Yasmin’s tragic death has left her community devastated and underscored the urgent need to protect vulnerable youth from violence and organized crime.
