My MIL Went on My Honeymoon to Make My Life Hell — I Didn’t Want to Put up with It & Planned the Perfect Payback

What began as a romantic honeymoon for me and my new husband Mike quickly turned into a nightmare when his mother unexpectedly joined us. “She’s never been on a vacation or traveled abroad,” Mike explained, leaving me livid at his decision to change our plans without consulting me.

Upon arrival, Linda, my mother-in-law, demanded constant attention, ruining our romantic moments. “Mike, bring me a towel. Mike, order me a cocktail,” she insisted endlessly, making me feel like a servant.

Desperate, I called my parents for help. They agreed to join us and arrived just in time. Their loving behavior drove Linda crazy with jealousy. My mom remarked, “We’re enjoying life,” which only added to Linda’s irritation. This shift allowed Mike and me to finally enjoy some alone time.

One evening, Mike apologized, “I realize now it wasn’t fair to you.” We began setting boundaries, and upon returning home, we had a heartfelt conversation with Linda, who finally understood our need for space. This experience taught us the importance of communication and setting boundaries, strengthening our relationship.
