Married World Champion skaters killed in DC plane crash

A tragic plane crash near Washington, D.C., has left no survivors after a passenger jet collided with a U.S. Army helicopter near Reagan National Airport. The crash happened around 9:00 PM, causing both aircraft to crash into the Potomac River, with a massive explosion captured on CCTV footage. The plane, which was carrying 60 passengers and 4 crew members, included several members of the U.S. Figure Skating community, such as skaters Jinna Han and Spencer Lane, along with their families and Russian-born coaches Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, both former world champions. The helicopter was carrying three soldiers, reportedly on a training mission.

Recovery operations have been ongoing in challenging conditions, and 28 bodies, including those of the skaters and coaches, have been recovered so far. The figure skating community is devastated by the loss of these beloved individuals, with tributes pouring in from around the world. This tragedy has deeply affected the community and beyond.
