Anne Langham Whitfield Phillips, a beloved veteran actress, passed away at the age of 85 following an unexpected accident while walking near her home in Washington, D.C. Her family shared the news with heavy hearts, highlighting the beauty of her life dedicated to uplifting others. Whitfield is best known for her role as Susan Waverly in the holiday classic White Christmas, which she celebrated with her family during its 70th anniversary just last December.

Born on August 27, 1938, in Oxford, Mississippi, Anne began her acting career in radio dramas as a child. After moving to Hollywood at age four, she became involved in theater and television, landing roles in productions like Annie Get Your Gun. In the 1970s, seeking a quieter life, she relocated and committed herself to activism and community organizing, working tirelessly for causes that promote peace and protect nature.

Whitfield is survived by her three children and seven grandchildren, who were always her top priority and will miss her dearly.
