Leavitt Slams CNN For Cartel Member Interview; Praises Trump’s Border Policies

Over the weekend, CNN correspondent Isobel Yeung aired an interview with a masked Sinaloa Cartel member, prompting backlash for offering a platform to a group now designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.

When asked for a message to President Donald Trump, the cartel member gave a vague response. Conservatives, including Trump spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, slammed the interview as “despicable.”

“It was a softball interview with a known killer,” Leavitt told Fox News’ Sean Hannity. “This is why trust in legacy media is at an all-time low.”

Meanwhile, Leavitt confirmed Trump’s administration is taking steps to reopen and expand the infamous Alcatraz prison, closed for over 60 years. The White House is coordinating with the Bureau of Prisons, the Department of Justice, and the Department of the Interior. “No stone is being left unturned to restore law and order,” Leavitt said.

Trump also announced plans to build a detention camp in Guantanamo Bay to hold up to 30,000 criminal aliens. Critics, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi, dismissed the Alcatraz plan as unrealistic, given its status as a national park. Still, Trump insists bold action is needed to combat rising crime and restore public safety.
