Jimmy Fallon speaks out with strong response after Jimmy Kimmel was taken off air over Charlie Kirk comments

The suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! continues to stir debate, with fellow late-night hosts and celebrities rallying behind Jimmy Kimmel after ABC pulled his show over controversial remarks on the political fallout from Charlie Kirk’s September 10 shooting death.

Kimmel suggested some politicians were exploiting the tragedy, sparking backlash from former President Donald Trump, who praised the suspension and urged other networks to act against their late-night hosts.

In response, comedian Ben Stiller called the move “not right,” while Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon defended Kimmel as “a decent, funny and loving guy,” adding he hopes to see his return soon. Late-night icon David Letterman dismissed the removal as “silly” and “ridiculous,” warning against media bowing to political pressure.

Seth Meyers weighed in with satire, joking that any past criticisms of Trump were “AI-generated,” while Stephen Colbert called ABC’s action a “blatant assault on freedom of speech.”

The growing chorus of support underscores broader concerns in the entertainment industry about free expression, political influence, and the boundaries of late-night comedy.
