Influencer Mom Faces Major Backlash After Naming Her Newborn After This Disney Character

Republished from November 2023.Australian influencer Indy Clinton proudly named her daughter Bambi, echoing Molly-Mae Hague’s bold baby-naming choice—despite public backlash.

Inspired by the Disney classic and her daughter’s “curious nature and big brown eyes,” Indy had considered Paloma but changed her mind after reading Bambi to her firstborn, Navy. Coincidentally, Molly-Mae chose the same name—something Indy took as a sign of “great minds thinking alike.”

Brushing off critics, Indy declared, “Unique names are the new trend,” championing personal meaning over public opinion. In her view, if people are going to talk, “give them something to talk about.”
