Twelve years after her husband Tom and daughter Emily vanished without a trace, Clara lives alone in a storm-battered farmhouse with her loyal dog, Lucky. One stormy night, Lucky leads Clara to a soaked teenage girl at a bus stop. The girl, calling herself Anna, accepts Clara’s offer of shelter.
That night, Clara finds a gold locket in the girl’s jacket—one she had given Tom the day he disappeared. Inside are photos of Clara and Tom. Confronted, the girl whispers the truth: her father was Tom. Clara’s voice breaks as she asks, “Emily?” The girl nods.
Emily explains they’d lived on the run after Tom made a mistake he couldn’t undo. Before dying, he told her to find her mother. With only the locket and Clara’s name, she searched for months.
Now reunited, mother and daughter grieve, talk, and begin to heal. When Clara asks why she called herself Anna, Emily replies, “It was just safer… until I was sure.” That night, under clearing skies, she leans on her mother and whispers, “I’m home now.”
And she was.
