In Wickwar, Gloucestershire, British farmer Howard Howes created a breathtaking tribute to his late wife, Janet.
After she passed away in 1995 at just 50, Howard planted thousands of oak trees across six acres, leaving a heart-shaped clearing in the center pointing toward her childhood home on Wotton Hill. Married in 1962, Howard envisioned the memorial as a living symbol of their love, adding hedges to frame the heart and daffodils that bloom each spring within it.
The secret meadow remained hidden until 2012, when balloonist Andy Collett spotted it from above, calling it the most remarkable view he had ever seen. Howard has since flown over the site himself, cherishing the legacy of love that continues to flourish.
