Gutfeld: I’ve mastered the art of being selfish… But becoming a parent is life changing experience

Gutfeld considered fatherhood at the age of sixty. Greg Gutfeld, the host of Fox News, has returned to his usual position in the armchair after taking paternity leave.

Gutfeld returned to the airwaves on Monday night after taking a break to embrace a new chapter in his life as a father. He began the performance with a humorous monologue that included some poignant thoughts on fatherhood along with his trademark sense of humor.

Early in December, Gutfeld, 60, and his wife, Elena Moussa, 42, celebrated the birth of their daughter, Mira. His Fox co-hosts broke the good news in a segment on December 10.

Gutfeld joked, “My diaper was the first she had to change when my wife told me she was pregnant,” recalling the moment his life was irrevocably altered. As usual, his remarks were lighthearted, with his trademark criticism of liberalism interwoven throughout the segment.

Greg Gutfeld remarked, “Parenting isn’t easy, but it’s not earth-shattering either,” after rejoining Fox News. The 60-year-old revealed a significant insight while openly discussing his path to fatherhood: “The biggest lesson I’ve learned is how much I have to unlearn.” I have been an expert at being selfish all my life.

Gutfeld acknowledged that his career had been significantly shaped by his self-centered approach. But becoming a parent at his age caused him to see things differently. He acknowledged the life-changing effects of fatherhood by saying, “Being a parent has taught me something I might have learned earlier in life—that you have to think about someone else.”

After meeting in Portugal, Gutfeld and his wife, Elena Moussa, were married in 2004. Less than a year after they first met, Moussa, a Russian native and professional fashion stylist, wed Gutfeld. The arrival of their daughter, Mira, has strengthened their relationship, which has remained strong over the years.
