Gene Hackman’s daughter reveals what she thinks killed her father

Gene Hackman, 95, passed away this past Wednesday in his Santa Fe home alongside his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 63, and their dog. The sudden death of Hackman’s wife has raised questions about the circumstances, with Hackman’s daughter, Elizabeth, suggesting carbon monoxide poisoning might be the cause. Authorities were alerted by a concerned neighbor and discovered the bodies, with gas company officials and fire department personnel ensuring there were no further risks.

Hackman, who retired in 2004, had a peaceful life in New Mexico, where he pursued painting. With a career spanning over 70 films, Hackman’s legacy in Hollywood is undeniable. Authorities have ruled out foul play, and the investigation continues to determine the cause of death. Hackman and Arakawa had been married since 1991.
