Fetterman Responds To Reports He’s Considering Switch To GOP

Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman has firmly denied rumors that he plans to switch his party affiliation to the GOP. He called the speculation “amateur hour” and rejected comparisons to Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin, who both left the Democratic Party to become Independents. Fetterman made it clear that even if he considered switching parties, he would not make a good Republican, stating, “I would make a pretty bad Republican.”

While his recent actions have raised eyebrows, such as meeting with former President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago and collaborating with Republicans on certain legislative issues, Fetterman emphasized that his goal is to represent all Pennsylvanians, not just Democrats. He stressed that his role as senator involves engaging in conversations that benefit the state and the country, regardless of political affiliation. In his meeting with Trump, they discussed issues such as protecting the U.S. steel industry and supporting Israel in its conflict with Hamas, showing his willingness to engage across party lines.

Fetterman also made headlines for his comments about Democratic leadership, particularly criticizing former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her role in the party’s challenges. Despite his moderate stance, he has repeatedly asserted that he remains firmly within the Democratic Party and has no plans to switch.
