Federal authorities have detained eight individuals in connection with a large-scale smuggling operation that allegedly brought illicit and counterfeit goods into the US from China via the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. It is estimated that at least $200 million worth of goods were smuggled by the scheme, which involved dishonest truck drivers, warehouse owners, and logistics companies.
