Authorities say digital messages between Tyler Robinson and his 22-year-old roommate, Lance Twiggs, were key in locating Robinson after the fatal shooting of political activist Charlie Kirk.
Robinson had been living in St. George, Utah, with a transgender partner who is cooperating with investigators and faces no charges. Messages between Robinson and the partner also helped track his movements.
FBI agents searched the shared apartment and seized electronic devices for forensic analysis. Public records list Twiggs at the same address; family members called him a “black sheep” but gave few details.
Twiggs is not a suspect but remains under review due to proximity. The FBI maintains that Robinson acted alone, but investigations continue into his digital activity, personal ties, and possible influences leading up to the assassination.
