Dolly Parton’s Husband’s Alleged Illness Resurfaces as Cause of Death Remains Unclear

Dolly Parton recently announced the death of her husband, Carl Dean, at 82 on March 3, 2025, after more than 50 years of marriage. Dean, who had been battling Alzheimer’s disease since 2019, was rarely seen in public, and the couple kept their relationship private. Parton shared that a small, private ceremony would be held in his honor.

Parton and Dean’s love story began in 1964 when they met at a Nashville laundromat, marrying in 1966. Despite her fame, Dean preferred privacy, working as an asphalt contractor. The couple enjoyed quiet moments together, traveling in their RV, and had no children. Parton stepped back from touring to care for him as his health declined. She cherished their time together, especially during the holidays.

Their marriage lasted 58 years, built on love, laughter, and shared memories. Dean’s death marks the end of a quiet yet profound partnership.
