Kimber Mills, a Cleveland High School senior from Blount County, Alabama, was known for her kindness, energy, and “little spunk.” A cheerleader and track runner, she dreamed of becoming a nurse to help others. On October 18, while attending a bonfire in Pinson, 27-year-old Steven Tyler Whitehead opened fire after an argument, injuring several people and fatally wounding Kimber.
She passed away three days later, on October 21. Her family honored her wish to be an organ donor, giving others the gift of life. “She was and is so loved,” her sister Ashley said. Kimber’s selflessness and bright spirit continue to inspire her community — a lasting reminder that one compassionate heart can change countless lives.
