Beyoncé Honors a Young Fan Who Died of Brain Cancer With a Special Song

Beyoncé released a touching tribute mashup of her iconic songs to honor Lyric Chanel, a young fan who lost her battle with brain cancer. Shared on March 5 on YouTube, the video titled “Rest In Peace Lyric Chanel” features a stripped-down blend of “Brown Skin Girl,” “Halo,” and “Love on Top,” accompanied by images and videos of Lyric, who passed away at the age of 13 after bravely fighting anaplastic ependymoma.

The song “Love on Top” held special significance for Lyric, who had previously shared a video of herself singing it, prompting Beyoncé to send her flowers and a heartfelt message of encouragement. Lyric’s mother announced the sad news on Instagram, while the page Go Gold for Childhood Cancer confirmed her passing, celebrating her bravery and love for singing and dancing. Beyoncé’s tribute stands as a touching testament to the impact Lyric had on her and countless others.
