Aspiring Figure Skater Matilda Ferrari, 15, Killed While Waiting for School Bus: Details

Italy is grieving the loss of 15-year-old figure skater Matilda Ferrari, killed in a tragic accident in Giustino, Trentino. She was struck by a cement truck while crossing the road to catch her school bus. Despite quick emergency response, she died at the scene. Reports indicate the truck had a green light when she entered the roadway.

Matilda, a student in Tione, walked daily with friends along the busy regional road, previously flagged for safety concerns. Mayor Manuel Cosi called it “a terrible tragedy that leaves us speechless.”

A member of Sporting Ghiaccio Art Pinzolo, Matilda had recently placed third in the Italian Cup. Tributes from her club and across Italy honor her discipline, talent, and dreams cut short.
