“A Taste of Kindness”

“A Taste of Kindness”

a neatly packed container filled with turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and pie. A small note was tucked on top:

“For when you’re hungry. Everyone deserves a holiday meal.”

My hands trembled as I held the note, tears stinging my eyes.

I hadn’t expected kindness after what happened earlier.

Her mother’s words had cut deep, reminding me of what I didn’t have—a warm, abundant home, a table full of food, and the comfort of not feeling ashamed.
