Kekoa, a large grey wolf living at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, challenges the typical perception of wolves as fierce and aggressive. Weighing 115 pounds and standing about 7 feet tall when on his hind legs, Kekoa is a gentle giant who shares a special bond with Danielle, a staff member at the sanctuary. Unlike wild wolves, Kekoa was bottle-fed and raised by humans, making him well-socialized and comfortable with people. However, he remains a wild animal, and his behavior can change when around other wolves, like his sister Sakura. The sanctuary provides a safe home for wolves like Kekoa, who cannot survive in the wild, allowing him to live out his life in the care of people who respect his wild nature.
