Sally Field, 76, Called ‘Ugly’ after Deciding to Age Naturally – She Found Joy in Being a Grandma of 5 and Living in an Ocean-View House

Actress Sally Field is renowned for playing strong maternal roles. She started with the short-lived show “Gidget” in the 1960s, saying it opened doors in Hollywood. Her difficult upbringing motivated her to audition for an acting workshop at Columbia Pictures.

Following this, she starred in the sitcom “The Flying Nun” for three seasons. Field later attended Actors Studios to refine her skills and transitioned into dramatic roles, gaining recognition with the film “Sybil” in 1976.

Her breakthrough came with “Norma Rae” in 1979, earning her an Academy Award. Field’s passion for acting began in high school, where she participated in the drama club, but she initially had no post-graduation plans.

She went through two marriages and had three children. Her experience with relationships, including one with Burt Reynolds, taught her valuable life lessons.

Despite aging naturally, Field faced criticism for her appearance, but she emphasized the beauty of aging gracefully. In 2005, she was diagnosed with osteoporosis, highlighting the risks for women approaching menopause.

Field’s dedication to a healthy lifestyle couldn’t prevent this diagnosis. Osteoporosis, often symptomless until fractures occur, disproportionately affects women due to hormonal changes.

Field received hurtful comments on her appearance on Twitter in 2018. Despite this, she remains an inspirational figure for embracing natural aging and dealing with health challenges.
