GOP-Led J6 Investigation To Be Its Own Committee This Congress

Georgia GOP Rep. Barry Loudermilk secured assurances that his probe into the January 6 attack will be formally established as a new committee, commemorated with a photo alongside House Speaker Mike Johnson. With the GOP controlling Congress and the White House, Republicans aim to reshape the January 6 narrative. Loudermilk criticized the previous committee, saying it unfairly targeted Trump. The new panel may broaden its focus beyond January 6. Meanwhile, Republicans revived subpoenas related to Hunter Biden and special counsel Robert Hur’s investigation into Biden’s classified documents. Their efforts signal continued scrutiny of past Democratic-led investigations and security failures.
