The Sleepwalking Secret

When I was 10, my mom started locking my door at night. I’d wake up to her whispering, “Stay in bed, no matter what.”

One night, I heard footsteps outside and the sound of scratching at my door. Terrified, I stayed still, listening to heavy breathing just inches away.

In the morning, I asked her why she locked me in. She looked at me, dead serious, and said, “Because you sleepwalk.”
