You Won’t Believe How This Sick Day Advice Went Hilariously Wrong

Li Wei, a dedicated employee in Shanghai, woke up feeling unwell one Tuesday morning. Despite his usual work ethic, he couldn’t summon the energy to go in, so he called his boss, Mr. Zhang, to say he was sick. Mr. Zhang, a no-nonsense manager, responded with surprising advice: “When I’m sick, I spend time with my wife. You should try that!”

Confused but intrigued, Li Wei hung up and began to think about his boss’s suggestion. The idea of spending time with his boss’s wife was strange, but perhaps a change of environment might help. After some thought, he decided to visit Mr. Zhang’s home, which wasn’t far from his apartment.

Mrs. Zhang, surprised by the visit, greeted him warmly and offered tea and soup. After chatting for a while, Li Wei felt better, his symptoms eased by the food and conversation.

Two hours later, he called Mr. Zhang to report that he was feeling much better. Mr. Zhang was pleased, and Li Wei added casually, “By the way, you have a lovely home.” There was a pause before Mr. Zhang responded, “My home?” Li Wei innocently explained, “I spent time with your wife, just like you suggested!”
