I nearly called 911 when I saw a tattooed biker climbing my neighbor’s balcony. From my kitchen window, it looked like a dangerous break-in.
But as I watched closer, I realized he wasn’t there to steal — he was holding a bowl of food for a starving German Shepherd trapped on that balcony for six days. The dog belonged to someone who had been evicted and left the poor animal behind. My calls to animal control, police, and apartment management had gone nowhere. The dog was desperate, and this stranger had taken matters into his own hands.
The biker, later identified as James Morrison, argued with the building supervisor, insisting he would feed the dog despite the rules. He climbed the outside of the building, three stories up, without safety gear, carefully holding the bowl while the dog ate and drank. It was an incredible sight — a mix of bravery and compassion. Neighbors gathered, phones recorded, and even the police arrived, telling him to wait for animal control.
