Fox News anchor Kayleigh McEnany defended recent government layoffs after Marie Harf, a former Obama official, criticized them.
McEnany cited a 2017 Washington Post article about bureaucrats resisting President Trump during his first term.
Trump created the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to streamline federal operations, which led to some job cuts. McEnany argued some workers were staying “out of spite” and undermining the administration.
Harf claimed the firings were illegal and morally wrong. A federal judge recently allowed layoffs at USAID despite union objections.
McEnany said resistance from within the government “should not happen,” framing it as a challenge to the will of the American people.
