On our anniversary night, I was glowing in my best dress, heart full of excitement, waiting for my husband. I had spent two whole weeks planning every little detail for our first wedding anniversary.
The candles flickered gently, the wine breathed, and the table was set for two. Everything was perfect. Or so I thought.
Then the doorbell rang.
It was a delivery man with a cake. Odd—I hadn’t ordered one. But what truly shook me was the golden lettering across the top: “It’s time to get divorced!”
My heart dropped.
Confused, I stood frozen. A cruel joke? A mistake?
An hour later, I got my answer.
My phone rang.
“Hey, sweetheart,” Thomas said, sounding way too casual. “I’m already halfway to the airport.”
“What airport?” I asked, my voice trembling.
“There’s an emergency meeting. Clients. You know how it is…”
“Thomas,” I said sharply, “today is our anniversary.”
Silence.
Marriage had changed me. It hadn’t always been perfect, but I believed in us—I felt secure, loved.
That night, I started to doubt everything.
But something didn’t sit right. And soon, I found a way to uncover the truth behind that message.
And what I found… changed everything.
