Wreckage of missing Alaska plane with 10 aboard finally located – Photo and details

A Berlin Air plane with 10 people on board disappeared from radar during a flight over Alaska on its way from Unalakleet to Nome. The plane, a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, lost contact at 5,300ft while crossing Norton Sound.

After an intense search, the wreckage was found on sea ice 34 miles southeast of Nome. Three bodies were recovered, while the remaining seven are believed to still be inside the plane, which was deemed inaccessible.

The cause of the crash remains unknown, and the US Coast Guard concluded the wreckage was beyond survival. Governor Mike Dunleavy expressed condolences, following the recent series of plane crashes.
