A father, Dell Simancas, captured the heart-stopping moment his son Adrian, 24, was swallowed by a humpback whale while kayaking in the Strait of Magellan. While paddling, Adrian was suddenly engulfed by the whale, but within seconds, the creature spat him back out. Adrian described feeling a “slimy texture” and thought he was going to die. Fortunately, he resurfaced unharmed. The incident, a rare misunderstanding, didn’t dampen the father-son duo’s love for kayaking. Humpback whales, known for their gentleness, do not typically swallow humans, as their feeding habits are not designed to engulf large prey.
