‘Squad’ Congresswoman Blames Trump For Plane Crash, Immediately Regrets It

Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) initially urged her social media followers to remain calm, stating that “no one knows what caused” the tragic incident near Reagan International Airport. She emphasized that investigations are ongoing and cautioned against drawing conclusions prematurely. However, the situation quickly escalated into a blame game.

Crockett claimed, “On his first day in office, Donald Trump froze the hiring of federal employees—including air traffic controllers,” referencing a White House webpage detailing the president’s hiring freeze across the federal government. She further implicated Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency for the dismissal of the head of the Federal Aviation Administration the day before.

In response, a rapid reaction team from the White House countered her claims, stating, “Wrong. Federal air traffic controllers are EXEMPT from the hiring freeze. Stop lying.”

The president’s suggestion that diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the FAA might have influenced the crash involving a commercial aircraft and an Army helicopter seemed to provoke a strong reaction from Crockett. The congresswoman, who is Black, had previously displayed her frustration during a debate regarding DEI policies in the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Amid ongoing speculation about the crash’s cause, President Trump announced on Friday that the Army Black Hawk, a Sikorsky UH-60 helicopter, was operating “far above the 200-foot limit” established for helicopters in Washington, D.C. He remarked on Truth Social, “That’s not really too complicated to understand, is it???”
