This has driven companies like Dollar Tree, traditionally known for selling items at $1, to raise prices in response to rising costs, including shipping. To stay afloat, Dollar Tree announced it would begin selling products for more than a dollar, a decision that shocked investors. As a result, the company’s stock dropped by about 17% in a single trading session. CEO Michael Witynski acknowledged that while Dollar Tree remains committed to its core value of affordable pricing, customers have expressed interest in a broader range of products, prompting the price changes.
