11-year-old dies because of online trend – now family is warning others about the household item that took his life

An 11-year-old boy, Tommie-Lee Billington, tragically lost his life after attempting a TikTok challenge during a sleepover with friends. The challenge involves inhaling harmful substances like dry shampoo or spray deodorant to induce a high, resulting in severe consequences. Tommie suffered cardiac arrest and died instantly upon inhaling the gas.

Tina Burns, Tommie’s grandmother, expressed the family’s devastation, stating, “He had a heart of gold just like his dad.”

His mother, Sherri, urged parents to caution their children against such dangerous trends, emphasizing the profound loss caused by these actions. She shared her pain on Facebook, vowing to prevent similar tragedies and protect other families from suffering.

Sadly, Tommie’s death echoes a similar incident involving 13-year-old Esra Haynes. The community mourns their loss and shares Sherri’s plea for awareness.

Rest in peace, Tommie.
